L’IPW-Centre des métiers du patrimoine « La Paix-Dieu » en collaboration avec le SPW DGO4 Département du patrimoine ont le plaisir de vous inviter au colloque international sur la thématique :
les matériauthèques du patrimoine bâti
qui se tiendra le jeudi 29 juin 2017 à la Paix-Dieu.
Cette manifestation a pour objectif de faire connaître les différentes initiatives liées à la valorisation des matériaux du patrimoine bâti. Les matériauthèques peuvent revêtir différentes formes, chacune constitue une collection particulière et unique. Mais elles ont un objectif commun : la sauvegarde des ressources matérielles ou immatérielles qui servent à enrichir les connaissances sur l’architecture et à sensibiliser sur l’importance des bonnes pratiques en matière de restauration du patrimoine.
Les matériaux font partie intégrante de l’édifice. Mais à l’occasion de travaux de restaurations ou de réaffectations, ils sont bien souvent dissociés de leur contexte et considérés de ce fait comme « non conformes », voire comme des déchets. Toutes ces pièces et les ressources documentaires associées sont pourtant véhicules de savoirs, de savoir-faire, « éco-durables » et porteurs de valeurs à transmettre aux générations futures. Le colloque présentera différents types de matériauthèques du patrimoine architectural et leurs thématiques : enrichissement des connaissances (scientifique, technique, histoire de l’architecture…), sauvegarde et pérennisation d’artéfacts (et des techniques afférentes) en voie de disparition, valorisation des matériaux du bâti comme supports pédagogiques.

The IPW- Center "La Paix-Dieu", in collaboration with the SPW DGO4, is pleased to invite you to the International Symposium on Built Heritage Materials to be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 to “La Paix-Dieu” in Belgium, near Liège. The purpose of this event is to make known the different initiatives related to the valorisation of materials of the built heritage. The materials can take different forms, each constituting a particular and unique collection. But they have a common objective: to safeguard the material or immaterial resources used to enrich knowledge of architecture and to raise awareness of the importance of good practices in heritage restoration.
The materials are an integral part of the building. However, in the case of restoration or reallocation work, they are often dissociated from their context and thus considered as "non-compliant" or even as waste. All these documents and the associated documentary resources are vehicles of knowledge, know-how, "eco-sustainable" and bearers of values to be passed on to future generations. The colloquium will present different types of architectural heritage materials and their themes: enrichment of knowledge (scientific, technical, history of architecture ...), safeguarding and perpetuation of artefacts (and related techniques) in the process of disappearance, valorisation of materials Of the building as pedagogical supports.
